Founder Alignment & Conflict of Interest Statement

Mortal and Strong was founded from my personal lived experience of navigating complex, life-changing health conditions alongside my professional background as a doctor. It was created with the purpose of improving access, understanding, and quality of life for others facing similar challenges.

While my professional profile and public engagement naturally intersect with the charity’s mission, I wish to make clear that:

• My personal brand and the charity are separate legal and financial entities.
• Above my paid employment for contracted work for  the charity in my role as CEO, I do not receive personal profit, or benefit from the charity’s activities, funding, or campaigns.
• Any appearances, speaking engagements, or public recognition linked to the charity serve to advance its charitable objectives - not individual promotion or gain. 
• Where overlap exists between my advocacy work and the charity’s mission (e.g. health education, awareness campaigns, or media activity), this is managed transparently under the charity’s governance policy and declared as part of the annual conflict-of-interest register.

My intention has always been that Mortal and Strong becomes an independent organisation - a lasting legacy that continues to serve its community long after my personal involvement. My public visibility as a doctor and health advocate simply strengthens the reach and credibility of the message, ensuring the voices of patients and under-represented groups are seen, heard, and respected.
