Liz is passionate about working towards equity in healthcare. After experiencing rare health conditions and the subsequent lack of support, Liz became aware of the barriers and lack of equity in support for patients. This led to her founding the charity Mortal And Strong and working to provide equal support for anyone with any health condition.
Liz's personal attitude toward not letting her health conditions stop her from living (not just surviving) has led her to sharing this message with brands, projects and engagements. Including Cool Crutches & Scamp & Dude.
Liz is a huge advocate for supporting the movement to regulate online health information. As an ambassador for the Patient Information Forum, Liz works to promote awareness for the need for safe, reliable information of health content online.
Dr Liz founded the charity Mortal And Strong after realising there was an inequality in support for people facing rarer health conditions. Liz believes that everyone has the right to equal support whatever the health condition.
Inspired by her own recovery of facing her mortality, and utilising her experience as an award winning artist - Liz founded the international health campaign Scars of Gold. Co-directing the campaign which captured the voices of 100 women facing their mortality - the campaign exhibited in London 2025.
Liz is an ambassador for the Patient Information Forum. The UK's only regulatory body for online health information. Liz is passionate about ensuring the online community provides access to support, but also safe and regulated information. Challenging the widespread epidemic of misinformation, Liz works with PIF to help strive for a safer space for people.
Liz is the podcast presenter for the Mortal And Strong podcast. Interviewing people sharing their experiences of facing their mortality at a young age. Liz uses her own experiences as a patient, along with medical insights as a doctor to guide patients to share their story of life changing or incurable health conditions.
Liz works with voluntary organisations as well as Mortal And Strong to deliver leading health campaigns. SHAREYOURICE - a toolkit to allow patients to advocate for themselves in clinical appointments. Scars of Gold to address women's health inequalities.
Liz shares her experiences a patient with direct experience of multiple women's health problems to not only raise awareness, but engage in discussions for actioning real change at a higher level.
Liz delivers talks on what it is to find strength after a life changing health condition, education on women's health topics including Endometriosis, Fertility, Birth Trauma, Menopause, disability.
